Check out what some of our current and former parents have had to say about us:
"I have been attending Parents' Place since my son was 12 months old, so going on 4 years now. Both kids started classes when they were 12 months old. It has been a blessing for them as well as myself. I get some adult time, opportunities to meet other parents in the same stage of life and use my gifts in helping the organization. My kids get to make friends, learn new things and have some time away from me! My goodness...at 2 and 1/2 my son knew that bears hibernated in the winter!! I certainly didn't teach him that!! The teachers are fantastic, loving and patient. Its a perfect introduction to the "academic world". -- Allison, current member
"We love Parents' Place! My daughter and I have both made friends and for me that's the best part; while she is getting socialization and access to a high quality preschool curriculum, I am getting to make friends with other local parents. I also enjoy being part of Parents' Place because of the community service projects we take on. Since I stay at home full time, it helps me to have a focus outside of motherhood. It is a blessing for us to be part of such a caring community of parents!" -- Ranah, current member
"My two boys enjoy learning and meeting friends each week at Parents' Place. I love talking to other parents and learning from one another. I wish I would have known about Morgantown Parents' Place sooner!" -- Cheri, current member
"My wife and I had decided early on, not to send our son to day care. We were able to achieve this by me (dad) staying home. We began to worry about our son’s social development and scheduled play dates at our home with folks we had met at various programs that we had entered him in. He was taking Kindermusik once per week and attending swim class at WVU, although he was somewhat interactive with the other kids, it took him a long time to warm up to the situation.
We enrolled him at Parents’ Place figuring it would build a good (social) foundation for when he starts school, while at the same time staying close by in case he had a rough time.
The first few sessions were an adjustment for him (and my wife, who wanted multiple update reports via texting) but after a couple of sessions he was actually looking forward to going. I have noticed a big difference in his interaction with others since we started Parents' Place. His teacher, Ms Leeann, is patient, caring and supportive, and genuinely cares about the progress of her students.
The parents are incredibly supportive, accepting and warm. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive being a Dad in a sea of Moms. I have learned some great tips, heard some interesting tales and always felt welcome in the Parents’ room.
We are planning on adding an additional day for our boy and once our little girl is ready, signing her up as well. Thanks to all the folks who make Parents’ Place a reality… You are doing something really special here." --John, Current Member
